Critical Role Voice Actor Joins Assassin’s Creed Shadows with Exciting New Ally Character

Popular Voice Actor Robbie Daymond Joins the Cast of Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Next week, fans of the critically acclaimed tabletop series Critical Role will recognize a familiar voice as Robbie Daymond joins the cast of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. He will portray a new recruitable character who can become an ally to Yasuke and Naoe, adding an exciting new layer to the game’s evolving story.

Introducing Rufino: A New Ally with a Rich Backstory

Daymond’s character, Rufino, was initially created for a promotional one-shot related to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In appearance, Rufino sports a traditional Portuguese-style doublet and a distinct, lavish moustache, giving him a charismatic and unique look. His backstory and personality promise to enrich the game’s narrative and gameplay experience.

Availability and Upcoming Content Update

Rufino will become available as a recruitable ally in the game’s next major update, scheduled for release on Wednesday, June 25. This update continues Ubisoft’s tradition of providing free post-launch content, following a recent crossover mission with the horror game Dead by Daylight. Players can look forward to expanding their adventure with new story elements and characters.

What Role Will Rufino Play in Your Journey?

While previous story expansions in Assassin’s Creed Shadows have been brief, typically offering around 20 minutes of additional gameplay, the inclusion of Rufino as a recruitable ally opens new possibilities. With only a handful of such allies available in the game, Rufino’s presence could significantly influence combat and story outcomes.

However, it remains uncertain how large Rufino’s role will be. Will players be able to call upon him during battles? Could there be romantic options involving Rufino, similar to other allies? Or will he simply serve as a memorable character hanging out at your hideout? Fans will find out in the upcoming update.

Exciting Crossovers and Future Content Plans

Ubisoft has announced that the June update will also introduce new difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, and an open-world alarm system to heighten tension. Additionally, players will have the option to toggle headgear on or off during cutscenes—a long-requested feature.

Looking ahead, Ubisoft is working on a New Game Plus mode and more story expansions, including additional crossovers. The most significant upcoming addition is Claws of Awaji, a major expansion set to follow the game’s ending and introduce a new region of Japan for players to explore, promising even more adventures in the world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Stay Tuned for More Updates

Fans can expect continued updates and content drops throughout 2025, making Assassin’s Creed Shadows an ever-expanding experience. With new allies, gameplay options, and storylines, the game is shaping up to be a compelling journey through feudal Japan.
